David Warner was selected by the Delhi Capitals during the 2022 Indian Premier League auction for a price of Rs. 6.25₹ crores. Warner had set a base price of Rs. 2₹ crores for himself. As one of the most successful batsmen in the IPL, Warner joined the Delhi Capitals’ squad. In 2023, the team retained him for the same price as the previous year.
The batsman who is left-handed has achieved 5881 runs in 162 matches to date, with an average of 42.01. He has hit 4 centuries and 55 half-centuries throughout his career. Additionally, the Australian renowned batsman has won the orange cap award three times. Warner was awarded the orange cap in IPL 2015, IPL 2017, and IPL 2019.
David Warner began his debut season in 2009 with the Delhi Daredevils. He remained a member of the Delhi franchise until 2013. In the 2014 season, he was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Under Warner’s leadership, Hyderabad won its first IPL title in the 2016 season.
After leading Sunrisers Hyderabad to success in IPL 2016, Warner continued to serve as the team’s captain.
