WPL Teams Bid: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) generated revenue of ₹4669.99 crore from the sale of five teams in the first-ever Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Wednesday. Adani Sportsline acquired the costliest franchise for ₹1289 crore.
The Ahmedabad franchise was awarded to Adani, while the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals successfully bid ₹912.99 crore, ₹901 crore, and ₹810 crore respectively to enter the WPL. The Lucknow franchise was acquired by Capri Global Holdings for a sum of ₹757 crores.

Viacom 18 Bags Women’s IPL Media Rights for ₹951 Crore
Recently, the BCCI reached a deal with Viacom18, selling the media rights for a period of five years at a per-match value of ₹7.09 crore, totalling ₹951 crores. In a closed-bid auction held in Mumbai, Viacom 18 emerged victorious by outbidding other broadcasters such as Disney Star, Sony, and Zee.
